PSSDAR State Conference and Continental Congress
What is Continental Congress?
Since the founding of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution in 1890, the organization has held Continental Congress, its annual meeting, in Washington, D.C. National, state and chapter leaders as well as other members from across the world meet at the National Society's Headquarters for a week during summer to report on the year's work, honor outstanding award recipients, plan future initiatives, reconnect with friends and much more. |
What is PSSDAR State Conference?
The Pennsylvania State Society Daughters of the American Revolution (PSSDAR) holds a state conference each year. During the state conference, Daughters from all over Pennsylvania come together to share and report their year's work at the chapter and state level. Who are the Juniors?
Juniors are DAR members whose age range from 18 to 35. When a Junior Member reaches her 36th birthday, she may continue to page at state conferences and Continental Congress until her 41st birthday. She holds full DAR membership, and when qualified, may serve as an officer or committee chair at the chapter, state, and national levels. An informed Junior membership is essential for participation at all levels. Juniors are encouraged to learn and to lead in support of DAR objectives. Who are the Pages?
Essential to Continental Congress and state conference are its pages—young women who provide varied service throughout the week. Paging is an opportunity to help your chapter, state and National Society and also to form lifelong friendships. |
