Our History |
Bethel Fife and Drum Chapter, NSDAR, was organized in October 1978 and merged with Canonsburg Chapter in April 1992. The chapter is named for the Bethel Presbyterian Church, which is the first church of that persuasion in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. In the Bethel Presbyterian Church cemetery, fourteen American Revolutionary War soldiers are interred, three of whom carried the surname Fife. The church and cemetery are located on Bethel Church Road, Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.
Our chapter name highlights the historical roots of our area of Western Pennsylvania and honors the service of the American Revolutionary patriots from this region who helped our country gain its independence. |
